We have updated the Web-filter and some users are having some problems with personal devices. You will need to manually install a root certificate on theses devices, please follow the directions meet your needs below. The certificate does not control the level of filtering or what sites are allowed. The certificate will prevent errors on sites that VIDE filter decrypts. Without the certificate, sites like Google.com, Facebook.com, etc will show privacy errors, users will perceive this as the internet being “broken”.
Automated Application

This application will automate the installation of the root certificate for you and updates all needed browsers.

Windows 7/10
- Click 'Open' to open the downloaded certificate
- Click 'Install Certificate' then Next
- Click on the "Next" button
- Click on Browse and choose 'Trusted Root Certification Authorities' then click 'OK' then 'Next'
- Click 'Finish, then click on 'Yes' to install the certificate, then click 'OK' twice
- Done.
Firefox
- Save the file to your computer
- In Firefox Options, go to 'Advanced' then 'Certificates' then 'View Certificates'
- Click the 'Import' button and select the file you just downloaded
- Check the box beside 'Trust this CA to identify websites'
- Click 'OK' and 'OK'
iPhone/iPad
- Touch the 'Root Certificate' button if asked touch 'allow'
- Enter your device passcode if prompted
- Click 'Install' to trust the Root CA

Click 'Install' again, and then 'Install' a final time - While in Settings, go to General -> About -> Certificate Trust Settings (will be on the bottom)
- Enable full trust for the ContentKeeper certificate
- Click 'Continue' on the Root Certificate pop-up
Chromebook
- Click 'Open' to open the downloaded certificate
- On the chrome://settings page scroll down to ‘Advanced’.
- Under ‘Privacy and Security’ click ‘Manage Certificates’.
- On the popup that is launched, select the ‘Trusted Root Certification Authorities’ tab and then click ‘Import’.

A certificate import wizard is launched. Select the 'ckvide.cer' file downloaded in step 1 and finish the wizard.
- The installed certificate will be displayed under the ‘Trusted Root Certification Authorities’ tab.
Android
- You must set a screen unlock PIN or password for Android to allow the steps below
- Click the 'Root Certificate' button to download cert
- In the 'Certificate name' field enter 'ck'
- In the 'Credential use' field, leave the selection at 'VPN and apps'
- Click 'OK'
- If the certificate is not installed automatically

Go to settings
- Click on 'security'

Mac
- Click the 'Root Certificate' button
- Double-click the downloaded 'ckvide.cer' from your Downloads folder on your Mac
- Open up Keychain Access by searching it on Spotlight (clicking the Magnifying glass located on the upper right corner)
- Enter your Mac's admin username and password if prompted
- Choose 'System' from the keychain drop-down list
- Double-click the certificate called 'ContentKeeper Root CA'
- Expand the 'Trust' section and change 'When using this certificate' to 'Always Trust'
- Close the pop-up
- Enter your Mac's admin username and password if prompted
- Quit the Keychain Application
